Benefits of Creatine

🪷 CRACKING CREATINE!

If you’ve taken my advice and have started training, such as lifting weights and have specific goals you would like to achieve, then Creatine may be for you!

This naturally occurring energy source increases power and strength and aids recovery after training.

But for peri and menopausal women, the benefits go even further!

❓WHAT IS CREATINE

Creatine is a naturally occurring substance made by your liver, pancreas and kidneys. It can also be found in meat and fish.

Creatine is stored in your muscles, where it is used as energy when you participate in any form of physical activity.

But for peri or menopausal women, it has further benefits

❗️MUSCLE MASS & STRENGTH

Declining oestrogen through the menopause causes muscle mass to reduce (also known as sarcopenia) and Creatine can help maintain and preserve lean muscle mass and improve strength.

❗️BONE HEALTH & DENSITY

Reducing oestrogen through the menopause increases risk of osteoporosis and weakens bone density. Creatine can increase bone formation and reduce bone loss

❗️COGNITIVE FUNCTION

Creatine can help with memory function and reduce brain fog.

❗️IMPROVED MOODS

Creatine has also been found to improve moods and mental health

❗️REDUCES FATIGUE

Creatine helps with energy levels and reduces the dreaded fatigue often suffered by peri and menopausal women

❗️REDUCES ACHES & PAINS

Creatine can help reduce inflammation and through increased muscle mass, your joints are more supported.

This is also beneficial if you suffer with DOMS (delayed onset of muscle soreness) after training as it aids recovery.

Creatine comes in various forms but most use the powder form dissolved in water and in most cases, I recommend creatine monohydrate for my clients

Aim for 5 grams of creatine monohydrate every day and take it approx 30 to 90 minutes before or after exercise.
